About The Position

The Equipment Tech is responsible for inspecting, testing, maintaining, cleaning, assembling, and distributing respiratory therapy and related equipment to ensure it is safe, functional, and ready for use. The role supports departmental operations by troubleshooting equipment, performing preventive maintenance and quality checks, managing inventory and usage, coordinating repairs, and delivering and setting up equipment for routine and emergency needs. The position also maintains patient billing records and performs general clerical duties.

Requirements

At least six months of related work experience.
Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA – CPR upon hire.

Six months of related work experience in a hospital setting demonstrating the requisite job knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

Assemble, clean, process, and set up respiratory therapy equipment according to current procedures.
Collect, decontaminate, assemble, redistribute, disassemble, clean, and reassemble equipment.
Perform quality checks on ventilators and associated equipment, including heaters and oxygen analyzers, according to operation verification procedures.
Perform scheduled routine and preventive maintenance to meet state requirements.
Respond to routine and emergency calls to deliver and set up equipment for immediate use.
Make daily rounds in assigned areas to ensure adequate stock at equipment stations; order and stock equipment and supplies to maintain par levels and meet special needs.
Replenish storage areas and respiratory care carts with adequate inventory.
Maintain adequate inventory in the equipment assembly area.
Monitor equipment usage and track utilization for billing purposes.
Enter and maintain patient billing records in computer systems.
Perform general clerical support duties, such as answering phones and making appointments.
