About The Position

Equipment tech is responsible for supporting daily operations, responding to equipment issues and maintaining accurate service documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Track and log active and nonfunctional infant transponders as well as borrowed infant transponders from neighboring hospitals.
  • Give biweekly report to managers.
  • Oversee proper storage, maintenance and inventory of all equipment for the Maternity Center, both stationary and movable equipment.
  • Keep and update master inventory of all equipment for Maternity Center.
  • Maintain communication with others, work in a self-directed manner, accurately communicating pertinent information to appropriate personnel.
  • Keep managers, ANMs, and charge nurse informed of status of supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain an orderly and safe environment, to OSHA, JACHO, Board of Health and Hospital standards and requirements.
  • Labor and Delivery unit specific-maintain patient rooms with all necessary pieces of equipment.
  • Newborn nursery unit specific-maintain inventory, functionality and cleanliness of nursery equipment.
  • Mother Baby unit specific-maintain inventory, functionality and cleanliness of all post-partum equipment.
  • Respond promptly to urgent equipment issues to support patient care and minimize downtime.
  • Maintain proper inventory, labeling supplies, monitoring for expiration dates and communicating with any new supply introduced or substitute items.
  • Order supplies for department.
  • Transport and retrieve equipment to Central Sterile Processing and Clinical Engineering departments.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
