About The Position

This position operates equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and MSHA regulations. The role involves performing daily safety and maintenance checks, cleaning equipment and work areas, and ensuring equipment is stored securely. The Equipment Tech III advises the maintenance shop of any repair needs and participates in routine daily maintenance tasks such as greasing, fluid checks, and brake checks. Additionally, this role may involve training and directing other employees, advising management on potential hazards associated with equipment operation, and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Knowledge of workplace safety and requirements for each piece of equipment trained upon
• Ability to operate equipment trained upon skillfully and safely.
• Knowledge of equipment maintenance and storage procedures for equipment trained upon.
• Ability to read and write to record and maintain daily records.
• Ability to use good judgment and work independently under limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant policies, procedures, and MSHA regulations.
• Perform daily shift safety and maintenance checks.
• Clean equipment as scheduled and/or required. Clean work area as required.
• Ensure equipment is safely and securely stored.
• Advise the maintenance shop of any requirements for maintenance or repairs.
• Participate in daily routine maintenance (example: greasing, fluid checks, brake checks, airline checks, etc.).
• Train and direct other employees as required.
• Advise Management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
• All other duties as assigned.
