About The Position

The Equipment Specialist is responsible for receiving, identifying, evaluating, and cataloging a wide range of materials and equipment in support of supply chain and disposition operations. This role applies technical expertise across electrical, electronic, and mechanical disciplines to assess item condition, determine serviceability, and ensure accurate classification and documentation within applicable supply systems.

Requirements

  • Minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience in electrical, electronics, mechanical, or related technical fields.
  • Strong working knowledge of supply systems, cataloging procedures, and logistics operations.
  • Experience with National Stock Number (NSN) assignment, validation, or research.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with condition coding and serviceability assessments.
  • Proficiency with data entry and inventory management systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience supporting government contracts, particularly within DLA or DoD environments.
  • Knowledge of allowance documents and federal supply regulations.
  • Experience with disposition services or reutilization programs.
  • Forklift certification or experience operating warehouse equipment (if applicable).

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and identify incoming equipment and material.
  • Apply technical knowledge to evaluate electrical, electronic, and mechanical components.
  • Determine condition codes and assess serviceability in accordance with established standards.
  • Identify end-use potential and proper disposition pathways for material.
  • Research and assign or update National Stock Numbers (NSNs) when applicable.
  • Accurately describe, catalog, and document both standard and non-standard items.
  • Utilize and maintain data within government and/or contractor supply systems.
  • Interpret and apply technical manuals, schematics, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with governing policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with quality control, warehouse, and logistics personnel to ensure proper handling and processing of materials.
  • Support inventory management, accountability, and audit readiness efforts.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned or requested.
