About The Position

The Equipment & Retail Specialist is skilled in technical shop duties, retail product knowledge, and sales, and lends a hand with cleaning duties around the lodge. This role plays a key role in guest satisfaction in the day-to-day operation of the lodge. This is a seasonal job opportunity. This position is based on an 11-hour day, worked as a split shift. A typical schedule consists of 2 weeks on and 1 week off. Accommodation is available while on shift, at no extra cost, for staff joining our team.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of technical shop experience with ski/board industry.
  • Minimum of 1 year of retail store experience.
  • Experience with ordering and inventory management.
  • Integrity, discretion, and critical thinking.
  • Adaptability and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and strategic planning abilities.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and in a timely manner, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn other relevant software platforms.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating seasonal workloads and changing priorities.
  • Trustworthy, goal-oriented, respectful, and self-directed individual.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the company, including those in remote locations within a hub-and-spoke model.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain fleet of skis, snowboards, poles, and bindings.
  • Adjust bindings and settings to support the needs of each guest.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels for equipment and retail stock.
  • Oversee all merchandising and displays in retail shop, as well as being educated on product knowledge.
  • Process all cash, debit, and credit transactions.
  • Maintain a clean and professional work area.
  • Support the ski program by assisting with radio duty.
  • Adhere to OH&S and WHMIS standards.
  • All employees will support the implementation of CMH health and safety and sustainability initiatives and participate in training and provide assistance as required during emergency response situations.
