About The Position

The Bartender prepares alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for guests at the end of daily field operations. This position keeps track of wines, beers, liquors, and other supplies, and facilitates the ordering and restocking process. The Bartender is responsible for hosting guests in the lounge and bar areas and facilitating the evening social scene. This is a seasonal job opportunity. These positions are based on an 11-hour day, worked as a split shift. A typical schedule consists of 2 weeks on and 1 week off. Accommodation is available while on shift, at no extra cost, for staff joining our team.

Requirements

  • Valid Serving It Right Certificate.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of wines, beers, and liquors.
  • Minimum of 3 years of bartending experience.
  • Experience with ordering and inventory management.
  • Integrity, discretion, and critical thinking.
  • Adaptability and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Positive, collaborative working style.
  • Ability to build meaningful relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and strategic planning abilities.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and in a timely manner, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn other relevant software platforms.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating seasonal workloads and changing priorities.
  • Trustworthy, goal-oriented, respectful, and self-directed individual.
  • Ability to navigate complex responsibilities.
  • Confidence to interact with all levels of the company.
  • Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position up to 20 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a constant basis.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for lodge guests.
  • Collaborate with the Lodge Chef for wine pairings.
  • Manage on-site beverage inventory and working supplies.
  • Responsible for ordering, receiving, and daily record keeping of all alcohol sales through the on-site POS system.
  • Maintain a clean and professional work area.
  • Perform radio duty, as required, to support field operations.
  • Willingness to assist other members of the lodge team, as needed.
  • Adhere to OH&S and WHMIS standards.
  • Understand and enforce BC Liquor Laws.
  • All employees will support the implementation of CMH health and safety and sustainability initiatives and participate in training and provide assistance as required during emergency response situations.
