About The Position

We are seeking a mechanically inclined Equipment Repair Technician for a local company specializing in welding and cutting equipment. This position is responsible for assisting with equipment repairs, shop operations, deliveries, and general warehouse support. No prior repair experience is required—hands-on training will be provided to the right candidate with a strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical aptitude is required.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools.
  • Strong work ethic, dependability, and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment and perform physical work throughout the day.
  • Candidates must meet the employer's driving insurance eligibility requirements.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check if required by the employer.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience operating a forklift is preferred.
  • Previous equipment repair, mechanical, automotive, small engine, or industrial maintenance experience is a plus, but not required. Training will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of welding and cutting equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and basic equipment servicing.
  • Support daily shop operations, including organizing tools, equipment, and work areas.
  • Load, unload, and transport equipment and materials safely.
  • Operate a forklift to move equipment and supplies.
  • Deliver and pick up equipment using a company vehicle.
  • Inspect equipment for damage and report repair needs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and perform additional duties as assigned.
