About The Position

As a Machine Operator, your role is to operate a variety of equipment, such as a paper cutter, folder machine, booklet maker, Stitcher and other bindery equipment as an expert and a high attention to detail, as a main focus of the role. The role will also be cross trained into other areas of the department so that order volume and customer demand can be taken care of. Another part of this role will be helping with and backing up local deliveries to customers.

Requirements

Basic mathematical skills i.e. add, subtract, multiply, divide
Able to lift up to 50lb with assistance.
Familiarity with Windows based software.
Read and interpret work orders
Good mechanical aptitude
Great communication with other team members
Work effectively under time constraints.
Is a person that is responsible for their own performance and output.
Has a good attendance track record and is very reliable.

Nice To Haves

Able to learn and interpret information from visual cues for troubleshooting purposes.
An understanding of process color printing and color theory.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain printing equipment.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Take an active role in quality control as the bindery area is at the back end of the workflow.
Is mechanically inclined.
No prior print experience required - we are wiling to train.
