About The Position

Taylor Corporation is looking for an Equipment Operator at our Fridley-MN location. This role involves preparing, operating, and adjusting assigned machinery to meet customer specifications. The operator will be responsible for producing quality products according to established procedures, including cutting, folding, stitching, punching, coiling, and gluing. Additionally, the role includes packing finished products, performing quality assurance checks, and conducting preventative maintenance on machinery to ensure efficiency and minimize downtime. The position requires maintaining a clean and safe work area, adhering to standard work methods, and following safety practices.

Requirements

  • Ability to set adjust machinery to required tolerances
  • High degree of mechanical ability
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Basic mathematical skills & ability to read measurements with a ruler
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information and ideas so others will understand
  • Regularly required to remain in a stationary position
  • Constantly operates machinery and handles products including print materials
  • Frequently required to move inside the facility
  • Regularly move up to 25+ pounds (lift, push, pull and/or carry)
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ year experience in production or as an equipment operator
  • Good color discernment

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, operate and adjust assigned machinery to specifications per customer work order
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and prepare for the next user
  • Produce product to specifications by following all processes and procedures
  • Cut to size, fold, stitch, punch, coil, glue or otherwise finish the product according to job ticket instructions
  • Complete tasks, as directed by production schedules, to ensure timely delivery of products to customers
  • Pack finished product into correct packages and boxes, along with attach appropriate labels and tags to product or boxes
  • Examine finished product for quality assurance; report defective materials or questionable quality issues to Supervisor or Team Lead
  • Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines, as required, to reduce problems, maintain quality, and minimize costly repairs and downtime
  • Maintain work area, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderly manner
  • Follow standard work methods and prescribed safety practices to ensure production is as efficient and safe, as possible
