About The Position

Wilbert’s is hiring a full-time Equipment Operator for its Nibbler Department in the Yard. The operator safely and efficiently uses equipment to move and process inventory, inspects and maintains equipment, and reports equipment concerns to management. Previous experience is beneficial but not required; training and equipment are provided. Wilbert’s is a family-owned automotive recycling company based in Webster, New York, and emphasizes teamwork, customer service, positivity, and workplace safety.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Valid driver’s license.
Forklift certification; training and certification are available.
Ability to perform the essential duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations where applicable.
Experience or knowledge in the automotive industry.

Responsibilities

Operate machinery to move inventory throughout the facility without damaging equipment, inventory, or company property.
Inspect equipment and perform basic preventative maintenance to ensure safe operating conditions.
Dismantle vehicles using specified equipment.
Crush vehicle inventory.
Load inventory into appropriate facilities, containers, trucks, or trailers.
Keep equipment clean and functioning.
Perform pre-operational checks and clean, lubricate, and refill equipment as necessary.
Use equipment for fine grading and finishing, sloping and banking, backfilling, demolition, ditching, loading, excavating, and stockpiling.
Follow all safety policies and procedures.
Report equipment concerns to management.
