About The Position
The Equipment Operator plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of heavy machinery and equipment within the facility located in Memphis, TN. This position is responsible for the precise handling, maintenance, and operation of various types of equipment to support production and logistical activities. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining a safe work environment by adhering to all safety protocols and operational guidelines. This role requires a strong focus on equipment performance, troubleshooting, and timely reporting of any mechanical issues to minimize downtime. Ultimately, the Equipment Operator ensures that operational goals are met through skilled equipment management and collaboration with team members. Performs various project work which requires safely operating vehicles and a variety of heavy/agricultural equipment that may include, but is not limited to; front-end loaders, skid steers, track-hoes, and bulldozers.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment in an industrial, construction, or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret operational manuals, safety guidelines, and technical documents.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety standards and practices.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor and operate machinery for extended periods.
- Always operate equipment in a safe manner
- Perform loading, unloading, and timely delivery of material to assigned/approved destination.
- Serve as a company ambassador in every interaction with clients and the public.
- Conduct daily inspections and perform preventative maintenance on the equipment.
- Maintain operation records.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with multiple types of heavy equipment, including forklifts, backhoes, and cranes.
- Basic mechanical skills for minor repairs and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing or production facility.
- Completion of OSHA safety training or equivalent certifications.
- Communication skills – verbal and written.
- Ability to operate heavy or agricultural equipment safely.
- Ability to perform basic math.
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Ability to follow directions.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts, loaders, excavators, and other equipment safely and efficiently according to operational guidelines.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to identify and address any mechanical issues promptly.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe working environment for self and coworkers.
- Coordinate with supervisors and team members to plan daily tasks and ensure equipment availability aligns with project needs.
- Document equipment usage, maintenance activities, and any incidents or malfunctions accurately and timely.
- Always operate equipment in a safe manner

- Conduct daily inspections and perform preventative maintenance on the equipment.
- Perform shop clean-up, maintenance, and equipment/tools setup.
