About The Position

Denali Water Solutions is seeking a dependable and safety-driven Equipment Operator to join our operations team. This position is responsible for safely operating a variety of heavy equipment while supporting daily production goals, maintaining equipment, and promoting a safe and efficient work environment. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, takes pride in their work, and understands the importance of safety, teamwork, and equipment care. This position plays a key role in the movement and processing of organic materials, helping ensure production runs efficiently while maintaining high standards for quality and environmental stewardship. This position is safety-sensitive and requires a clear mind and diligence. Employees are responsible for their own safety as well as the safety of others.

Requirements

  • Previous experience operating heavy equipment in composting, mulch, topsoil, recycling, agriculture, landscaping, mining, construction, or similar industries.
  • Strong understanding of safe equipment operating practices.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify and report equipment issues.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and dust.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely climb on and off equipment throughout the workday.
  • Reliable transportation and excellent attendance record.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating multiple types of heavy equipment is preferred.
  • Experience operating grinders, screening equipment, excavators, wheel loaders, and skid steers.
  • Basic knowledge of preventative maintenance and equipment inspections.
  • Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification.
  • CDL Class A or B is a plus but not required.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced production or industrial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate excavators, wheel loaders, skid steers, grinders, screening equipment, and other heavy machinery.
  • Load trucks, trailers, and customer vehicles with finished materials.
  • Move raw materials and finished products throughout the facility.
  • Build, maintain, and manage material stockpiles to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Feed grinders, screens, and other production equipment as needed.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on all assigned equipment.
  • Monitor equipment performance and promptly report maintenance or repair needs.
  • Work closely with the maintenance team to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Maintain equipment in a clean, safe, and operational condition.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Assist with general site operations and other duties as assigned.
  • Communicate effectively with truck drivers, mechanics, supervisors, and fellow team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
