About The Position

Denali Water Solutions is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Forklift Operator to join our New Earth San Antonio operations. This position plays a vital role in the daily production and distribution of bagged compost, mulch, topsoil, and other landscaping products. The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient handling of palletized materials, loading and unloading trailers, transporting finished products from the bagging building to designated storage areas, and supporting overall site operations. This role is performed primarily outdoors and requires working in varying weather conditions throughout the year. The ideal candidate is physically fit, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a safe and productive work environment. This position is safety-sensitive and requires a clear mind and diligence. Employees are responsible for their own safety as well as the safety of others.

Requirements

  • Previous forklift operating experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, landscaping, or industrial environment.
  • Valid forklift certification or the ability to become certified upon hire.
  • Ability to safely lift, move, and transport palletized materials.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and dust.
  • Physically capable of standing, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds throughout the workday.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating forklifts in bagging, mulch, compost, landscaping, agriculture, recycling, or manufacturing operations.
  • Experience loading and unloading flatbeds and enclosed trailers.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and equipment inspection knowledge.
  • Familiarity with inventory control and warehouse organization.
  • Experience working in outdoor production environments.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a forklift to transport palletized compost, mulch, topsoil, and other finished products throughout the facility.
  • Load and unload trailers and customer vehicles accurately and efficiently.
  • Move finished products from the bagging building to designated storage and inventory areas.
  • Stage materials for shipping, receiving, and production operations.
  • Maintain organized storage areas to ensure safe and efficient product flow.
  • Perform daily pre-shift inspections of forklifts and report maintenance or repair needs promptly.
  • Inspect loads to ensure proper placement, stability, and secure handling.
  • Assist with inventory control and stock rotation.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and standard operating procedures.
  • Assist with general yard, warehouse, and production activities as needed.
  • Participate in safety meetings, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
