About The Position

The Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating various types of heavy construction equipment to perform a range of earthwork activities. This role requires a strong understanding of equipment safety standards, the ability to interpret project plans, and effective collaboration with crew members. The operator will also be responsible for routine equipment maintenance and adherence to all safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Ability to safely operate multiple types of heavy construction equipment.
  • Working knowledge of equipment safety standards and operating procedures.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and reach for extended periods.
  • Ability to operate equipment controls using hands and feet.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to dust, noise, vibration, and uneven terrain.

Nice To Haves

  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, rollers, skid steers, articulated trucks, and other machinery as assigned.
  • Perform excavation, grading, trenching, material movement, site preparation, and other earthwork activities.
  • Conduct pre-operational and post-operational inspections of equipment.
  • Identify, document, and report equipment malfunctions, maintenance needs, and safety concerns.
  • Read and interpret site plans, grade stakes, blueprints, and project specifications.
  • Work closely with supervisors, laborers, truck drivers, and other crew members to ensure efficient project completion.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance, including fueling, lubricating, and cleaning equipment.
  • Follow all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and site-specific safety requirements.
