About The Position

Taylor Print & Visual Impressions, a Taylor company, is looking for an Equipment Operator, Cutter/Folder/Stitcher Operator, to join our team in Duluth, GA. In this role, you will perform a variety of bindery and finishing tasks, including equipment setup, operation, and product finishing, to ensure production runs efficiently and products meet quality standards.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.
  • Ability to use basic handheld tools such as rubber straps, plastic bags, packaging materials, cardboard boxes, and tape dispensers used in production and packaging.
  • Ability to maintain consistent quality while meeting production pace and throughput expectations.
  • Ability to perform basic equipment setup and adjustments.
  • Ability to recognize production or quality issues and notify a lead or supervisor.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information and ideas so others will understand.
  • Regularly required to remain in a stationary position.
  • Frequently required to move throughout the production facility.
  • Constantly operates machinery and handles printed materials.
  • Regularly moves materials, including lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying items up to 25 pounds or more.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate bindery equipment such as cutters, folders, and stitchers according to job specifications.
  • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed.
  • Inspect finished products for defects and ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Report quality concerns to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
  • Load and unload materials onto and from equipment.
  • Store materials properly according to company guidelines.
  • Follow safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Report safety hazards or incidents to supervisors.
  • Maintain accurate production, quality, and maintenance records.
  • Read job tickets to ensure equipment is set up correctly and all required work is completed.
  • Finish products according to job ticket instructions.
  • Interpret information from bindery paperwork, planning sheets, layouts, dylux, and job tickets.
  • Complete tasks according to production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Follow established process and quality guidelines while performing job duties.
  • Examine and adjust finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Report defective materials or questionable quality issues to the department Supervisor or Lead.
