About The Position

The Equipment Operator safely and efficiently locates product using a radio frequency (RF) unit, manually pulls product from locations, and transports it to departments or other locations using powered equipment. The role processes a portion of customer orders throughout the production day and restocks product into bins. Work takes place in a fast-paced distribution center warehouse environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of lift operator experience.
• Ability to read and write and to identify colors, sizes, quantities, label information, and SKU information.
• Basic math skills for counting and determining quantities.
• Ability to follow directions, adjust priorities or duties as business needs require, and rotate to other production functions as needed.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while meeting deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to comprehend verbal and written instructions.
• Basic English literacy for operating machines and completing necessary daily paperwork.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including frequently lifting or moving up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate powered lift equipment to move product and materials as assigned.
• Use a radio frequency (RF) unit to scan product movement and identify locations.
• Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product.
• Restock, pick, and pack product for customer orders.
• Inspect assigned equipment at the start of each shift, check it out, and return it in the same condition daily.
• Follow procedures for the proper care and use of equipment, including keys.
• Adhere to all safety requirements and guidelines.
• Complete and maintain SanMar’s Lift Operator Certification in compliance with OSHA guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.
