About The Position

Brands include the iconic FAO Schwarz, Sharper Image, Vornado and Discovery Kids. MerchSource is very excited to announce the recent opening of our Distribution Center in Bloomingdale, GA. We are looking for Equipment Operators to join our team. The Equipment Operator supports activities and functions throughout the warehouse from Inbound to Outbound with primary focus being equipment operation. The Equipment Operator serves as a Driver (Picker), Driver (Putaway) or Driver (IC) function. The Equipment Operator is responsible for physically and systematically moving product within the Warehouse Management System using RF scanners. The Operator is responsible for following all trainings and procedures to safely load and unload trucks and transfer and consolidate product from multiple locations to the Forward Pick Location. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • One to two years related experience.
  • Familiarity with warehouse shipping practices and handling methods.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards in performance and quality.
  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, math (counting/addition and subtraction) and analytical skills.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Proficient on RF Scanner and Excel.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team player.
  • Forklift certified.
  • Ability to frequently lift/carry/ push/pull up to 50lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Transport product/materials to designated areas using appropriate tools/vehicles to accomplish task including but not limited to hand dolly, forklift, electric dolly, pallet jack, and/or elevator.
  • Identify products for put away through placards and move product to the location indicated on the RF scanners.
  • Pick product from locations indicated on RF scanners.
  • Support both Inbound and Outbound needs by retrieving and putting away product.
  • Perform tasks safely; always being aware of surroundings and people while operating machinery.
  • Process packages for shipping; and returned merchandise.
  • Conduct physical inventory counts and cycle counts inventory into the system; replenish stock from back-up location based upon system reporting and supervisor approval.
  • Maintain a safe, clean working environment.
  • Participate in quality improvement efforts.
  • Perform required administrative tasks; prepare all required reports and correspondence.
  • Train teammates as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
