About The Position

The Equipment Operator safely and efficiently locates product using a radio frequency (RF) unit, manually pulls product from locations, and transports it to various departments or locations using powered equipment. The role processes a portion of customer orders throughout the production day and restocks product into bins. The position works in a fast-paced distribution center warehouse and may require essential-day or overtime work.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of lift operator experience.
• Ability to read, write, and identify colors, sizes, quantities, labels, and SKU information.
• Basic math skills for counting and quantity tasks.
• Ability to follow directions and change priorities or duties as business needs require, including rotating to other production functions.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while meeting deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to comprehend verbal and written instructions.
• Basic English literacy for operating machines and completing necessary daily paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Operate powered lift equipment to move assigned product and materials, using an RF unit to scan product movements and identify locations.
• Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product.
• Restock, pick, and pack product for customer orders.
• Inspect assigned equipment at the start of each shift, check it out, and return it in the same condition daily.
• Follow procedures for proper equipment care and use, including handling keys.
• Adhere to safety requirements and guidelines.
• Complete and maintain SanMar’s Lift Operator Certification in compliance with OSHA guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all policies and standards.
