About The Position

This role involves operating various types of power construction equipment, including electric, diesel, gasoline, or steam-powered machinery such as motor graders, bulldozers, scrapers, shovels, derricks, tractors, and front-end loaders. The operator will be responsible for excavating, moving, or grading earth, erecting structures, and transporting products, equipment, or materials within industrial work areas. The position also includes other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Ability to operate electric, diesel, gasoline, or steam-powered construction equipment (e.g., motor grader, bulldozer, scraper, shovel, derrick, tractor, front-end loader).
• 3-5 years of experience operating equipment.
• Ability to inspect equipment for defects and report malfunctions.
• Ability to signal truck drivers for loading operations.
• Ability to identify and avoid hazards.
• Ability to clean, maintain, and lubricate equipment.

Responsibilities

• Pushes and pulls levers and depresses pedals to operate machinery such as raising/lowering booms, load lines, blades, or buckets.
• Raises, lowers, and rotates equipment components (e.g., blade, bucket, boom, load line) based on visual cues or signals from a helper.
• Conducts regular inspections of equipment for defects and reports any issues or malfunctions to the supervisor.
• Starts engines and operates machine controls, including throttles, switches, levers, and pedals.
• Signals truck drivers to ensure proper positioning for loading dirt, rocks, and other materials.
• Identifies and avoids potential hazards and obstructions, including utility lines, other equipment, personnel, and falling objects.
• Performs routine cleaning, maintenance, and lubrication of equipment.
• Completes other assigned duties as required.
