The Equipment Operator II operates a variety of power construction equipment within New England states and assists utility construction crew in performing their assigned duties. This role involves operating power equipment on congested sites with multiple hazards, exercising proper care and maintenance of company equipment, and ensuring safe excavation practices. The operator will be responsible for locating utilities, maintaining trenching and shoring standards, and safely handling loads to avoid tipping accidents. Tasks include driving machines, lifting and moving materials, digging, spreading, leveling dirt, gravel, or sand, and mixing/pouring concrete and asphalt. Additional duties may involve removing forms, placing pipe, jack hammering, and tapping. The work can be in utility construction (street and/or private for water, gas, sewer, electric, geothermal, etc. with shoring boxes) or site work (building foundations, grading, cut and fills, etc.).
