About The Position

Kiewit is seeking experienced Equipment Operators to support road construction, grading and earthmoving operations near Study Butte, Texas. The pay rate is up to $35/hr depending on experience. The shift schedule is 10 days on and 4 days off. Candidates must be available to work day and night shifts. Additional overtime and weekends may be required.

Requirements

• Must have required tools
• Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of vehicles and large heavy equipment while performing maintenance and repairs on roads and rights-of-way including loading, hauling and dumping on smooth to extremely rough surfaces.
• Load gravel, dirt and sand; smooth and grade roads; spread rock and gravel.
• Trench and construct ditches for installation of culverts, water pipes and sewer pipes; remove silt and debris.
• Checking and maintaining all fluid levels and lubrication of equipment.
• Instruct and train employees in the safe operation of construction equipment and tools and in job techniques and skills.
• Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
• Obtain proper and complete documentation prior to moving materials.
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or fluids.
• Maintain logs of working hours, or of vehicle maintenance, following applicable state and federal regulations.

Benefits

• $70/day worked per diem is provided for travel exceeding 50 miles from the project site
• $75/day will be provided for travel allowance
