About The Position
The City of Huntsville’s Public Works- Construction/Maintenance department is seeking qualified applicants to fill our Equipment Operator III positions. This is skilled work in the operation of heavy equipment used in construction, maintenance, and repair work. This classification differs from an Equipment Operator II position in that a majority of the incumbent's time is spent operating heavy equipment or transporting large pieces of heavy equipment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Considerable experience in the operation of heavy equipment and heavy trucks
- Valid driver's license
- Must pass the written portion of the CDL Class A within six (6) months of hire and/or promotion date.
- Must pass the driving test and obtain a valid CDL, Class A within twelve (12) months of hire and/or promotion date.
Nice To Haves
- Automatic transmission restriction will be allowed
