About The Position
The Town of New Canaan, Connecticut seeks qualified candidates for the position of Equipment Operator II. This role operates trucks and other heavy equipment such as mowers and sand spreaders. Responsibilities include routine manual labor of all types including asphalt, brush cutting, and drainage. The position may involve supervising a crew of men and involves limited personal contact outside of immediate associates. The role operates under the direct supervision of the Highway Superintendent.
Requirements
- Completion of a two-year high school course
- Three years’ experience operating light and heavy equipment
- Successful applicants will be given one (1) year to obtain their CDL
- Background investigation required
- Pre-employment physical required
