About The Position

Operates road construction vehicles and equipment. The position may be under-filled at 06 level (minimum of range) until minimum requirements are met, for no more than six months. Employment requires pre-employment drug testing and is subject to random, unannounced drug and/or alcohol testing.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited high school or GED program.
• One year of work-related experience operating heavy equipment.
• Valid Class A or B Texas Driver’s License and a good driving record.
• Provide a copy of a 10-year driving history.
• Maintain a good driving record and remain in compliance with Article II, Subdivision II of Chapter 90 of the Dallas County Code.
• Ability to operate equipment efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

• Operate construction vehicles, equipment, and heavy and light trucks safely and skillfully, including sheepsfooter rollers, mixers, and water trucks.
• Assist patching and bridge crews.
• Complete daily activity and operating reports.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
