About The Position

The Equipment Operator B position with the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs gives you the chance to work with powerful machinery while supporting an important mission. This role supports the maintenance and improvement of training lands and related features at Fort Indiantown Gap.

Requirements

One year of experience as an Equipment Operator A (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Two years of experience in the operation of heavy construction and specialized maintenance equipment used at this level with a gross vehicle weight of 32,001 pounds or more; or Any equivalent combination of experience or training.
Possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.
Possession of a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tank endorsement and air brake restriction removed.
Willing and able to work in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania.
Able to perform essential job functions.

Nice To Haves

Experience operating a tracked excavator, hydro-seeder, or forestry mulcher.

Responsibilities

Operate light and heavy machinery to complete land maintenance tasks safely
Maintain roadways, trails, drainage features, and other training land structures
Load, haul, and unload equipment and supplies as needed for assigned projects
Follow all safety rules, conduct equipment checks, and use protective gear as required
Use hand and power tools such as chainsaws to support maintenance activities
