About The Position

The Equipment Operator B position with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources offers a hands-on way to support Ohiopyle State Park. You will demonstrate your skills with operating important machinery and helping keep park areas safe and welcoming. You will take part in projects that improve trails, facilities and public spaces. Requirements

• One year of experience as an Equipment Operator A (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
• Two years of experience in the operation of heavy construction and specialized maintenance equipment used at this level with a gross vehicle weight of 32,001 pounds or more
• Any equivalent combination of experience or training
• Possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license
• Possession of a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
• Meet the PA residency requirement
• Able to perform essential job functions

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain large machinery used for construction, maintenance and snow removal
• Drive and care for heavy and light vehicles to support park projects
• Clean park buildings and collect trash throughout park grounds
• Use small motorized tools and hand tools to complete maintenance work
• Inspect equipment, record usage and adjust machinery to ensure safe operation
• Assist with hazard tree removal and clear snow from walkways and park areas
