About The Position

As the Dining Facility (DFAC) Equipment Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Supervisor, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing commercial cooking equipment, HVAC/Refrigeration, and Kitchen Exhaust Hoods & Ducts at customer locations. This role involves providing preventative maintenance (PM) services and scheduled cyclical inspections, as well as responding to emergency service calls on various commercial food service equipment. You will also act as the designated person-in-charge (PIC) in the absence of the AUAB DFAC Equipment Maintenance Manager (EMM), providing supervision and guidance to assigned maintenance personnel. The role requires supporting the installation, diagnosis, and repair of commercial kitchen and refrigeration equipment, ensuring timely response to service calls, and effective communication with leadership and colleagues. You will be responsible for performing and uploading PM inspection reports, compiling operational records, acting as the Safety/Compliance PIC, assisting with hood cleaning and paperwork, and managing inventories of tools, PPE, and parts. Maintaining service vehicle logs and appearance, escorting sub-contractors, and performing other related duties are also part of the responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years’ experience in HVAC/Refrigeration and commercial kitchen appliance service and repairs.
  • Experience working on refrigeration equipment such as: ice machines, reach-in coolers and freezers, refrigerated shipping containers.
  • Experience with commercial Kitchen Dish Washers & Hood Exhaust systems.
  • Valid Driver License.
  • Must possess an 8 Hour Food Handlers certification or obtain prior to beginning employment.
  • Ability to connect and disconnect all utility lines to equipment when required and provide maintenance for the utility line connections’ accessories, attachments, and power cords to include hardwire installations.
  • Ability to examine objects, systems, or facilities, and analyze information to determine needed installations, services, and or repairs.
  • Basic Computer Skills, able to utilize basic MS Apps & Tools.
  • Ability to determine and schedule work activities, based on work priority category.
  • Conduct tool & part/bench stock inventories and conditions reports.
  • Extremely strong customer communication skills.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust, high temperatures and humidity.
  • Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial cooking equipment, HVAC/Refrigeration, and Kitchen Exhaust Hoods & Ducts.
  • Provide preventative maintenance (PM) services and scheduled cyclical inspections.

  • Support the installation, diagnosis, and repair of Commercial Kitchen, Refrigeration Equipment, misc. tools, and equipment.
  • Ensure Maintenance Team(s) respond to service calls in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with department leadership, management, and co-workers.
  • Perform and upload scheduled PM Inspections and Services reports/forms.
  • Compile operational records, such as time and production records, inventory data, repair and maintenance statistics, and test results.
  • Act as the Equipment Maintenance Department primary implementation - Safety / Compliance PIC.
  • Assist with scheduled Hood Cleaning, and complete required paperwork.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of established inventories, and stock levels.
  • Manage tools, PPE, and parts inventories.
  • Monitor the maintenance of assigned work areas to ensure safe and organized working conditions.
  • Maintain Service Vehicle Logs, appearance, and stocked.
  • Escort sub-contractor maintenance technicians during service calls.
  • Perform other related duties needed/required to support the mission.
