About The Position

The Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for all aspects of troubleshooting, repair and maintenance service of a wide range of equipment that is needed to perform all landscape functions, such as all landscaping and construction equipment with 4-cycle engines, 2-cycle engines, other small engines and automotives. The role involves accurately troubleshooting equipment and quickly repairing breakdowns to maintain operating efficiency. The mechanic will perform routine maintenance like oil changes, air filter changes, and belt replacements, inspect safety devices, and perform off-site repairs. Additionally, the position includes picking up parts from vendors, assisting in maintaining service records, organizing parts, and ensuring all parts go through company inventory. The role also requires maintaining the shop area, yard, and building, communicating with managers to ensure crews have proper equipment, and ensuring OSHA and other regulations are followed. The Equipment Mechanic will also assist the company in seasonal services provided to customers, such as snow removal.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3 years experience in related field.
  • Valid NC Driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.
  • Must submit to a reference and criminal background check.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Must comply with Bland Landscaping Company, Inc. policies and procedures.
  • Must practice safety with chemicals and all equipment.
  • Must wear company provided uniforms and use personal protective equipment as needed.
  • Must be able to pass a Criminal Background check.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.).
  • Comfortable working in various weather conditions and environments.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, or crouch for extended periods of time.
  • Capable of working with heavy machinery in tight or challenging spaces.

Nice To Haves

  • CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot equipment accurately and repair breakdowns quickly to maintain operating efficiency.
