About The Position

This role involves performing maintenance, service, and repair on all types of construction equipment. The mechanic will be responsible for routine preventive maintenance, diagnosing defects, and ensuring equipment operates efficiently. This position requires working outdoors in various weather conditions and maintaining a clean work area and equipment. Record-keeping using electronic devices is also a key part of the role.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license (may require CDL with Hazmat).
  • 48 months of industrial construction experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain appropriate company records to document equipment maintenance, service, and repair using electronic mobile devices (i.e. work orders completed on iPad).
  • Operate and inspect machines or equipment to diagnose defects and repair all types of construction equipment.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on heavy construction equipment in a field environment (i.e. lubrication and replacement of brakes, belts, hoses, filters, fluids, and engine tune-up).
  • Dismantle and reassemble systems on heavy construction equipment.
  • Identify excessive damage or wear on equipment.
  • Replace defective engines and subassemblies.
  • Test and inspect overhauled equipment to ensure efficient operation.
  • Push and/or pull tool boxes to position them while working on equipment.
  • Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Assist in lifting, positioning, and securing of materials and work pieces during installation.
  • Perform maintenance or cleaning activities on tools and equipment.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures.
  • Work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Maintain work area and equipment housekeeping.
