About The Position

Located in Largo in the heart of Prince George’s County, our state-of-the-art regional medical center (University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center) will provide improved access to primary and ambulatory care services and serve as a tertiary care center for critically ill patients. UM Capital Region Medical Center is a state-of-the-art teaching hospital supporting Prince George's County and the surrounding areas. The Medical Center was designed from the ground up for patient safety and patient experience.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management required, healthcare setting experience preferred; 7 or more years of experience preferred.
  • Must have demonstrated knowledge of medical supplies and procedures.
  • Experience in budgeting, and accounting highly desired.
  • High school diploma required with supplemental technical course in procurement and supply management required; Associates Degree preferred.
  • Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills and basic PowerPoint skills required.

Responsibilities

  • The Equipment Materials Specialist monitors the Department's service schedule to ensure availability of adequate Code Cart supplies.
  • Orders various supplies and equipment as needed
  • Assists with arranging for loans of supplies from other hospitals and vendors as needed
  • In collaboration with Materials Management, develops and maintains inventory and par levels
  • Works closely with System Leadership to manage supplies in a fiscally thoughtful way
  • Facilitates standardization of supplies, services, and equipment on an ongoing basis
  • Monitors purchase request(s) for accuracy and quantity
  • Collects packing slips and sends to materials management on a timely basis
  • Identifies and addresses invoice discrepancies
  • Processes requisition orders and procures nonstock supplies and equipment according to budgetary guidelines and with approval of department leadership.
  • Assists in maintaining accuracy of departmental charge masters and service masters.
  • All receiving responsibilities.
  • Mail processing
  • Performs other related work as assigned.
