About The Position

The Equipment Maintenance Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, optimizing, changing over/troubleshooting, and maintaining assigned departmental production equipment. This role is crucial for meeting and exceeding production standards, maintaining product quality, minimizing equipment downtime, and sustaining budgeted waste levels on a daily basis. The technician will operate within specified quality and quantity limits, debug equipment according to specifications and plant policies, and perform necessary adjustments, troubleshooting, cleaning, and repairs. They will also maintain equipment logs, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure all safety guards are in place and functional. Continuous monitoring of in-process quality and adherence to safety and environmental procedures are key aspects of this position.

Requirements

Minimum of two years work experience in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to work overtime hours when requested.
Must have clear and legible handwriting.
Knowledge of basic pneumatics, electrical, electronic, and hydraulics.
Knowledge of proper use of tools, proper troubleshooting and set up procedures.

Responsibilities

Set up, operate, optimize, changeover/troubleshoot, and maintain assigned departmental production equipment.
Meet and exceed production standards, maintain product quality, and minimize/prevent equipment downtime.
Sustain budgeted waste levels on a daily basis.
Operate equipment within specified quality/quantity limits.
Set up and debug equipment to specifications, plant policies, and Department Procedures.
Maintain equipment in working order, adjusting, troubleshooting, cleaning, and repairing as necessary.
Maintain equipment logs, recording pertinent information about downtime and maintenance problems.
Repair equipment within capability and report major problems to the supervisor.
Assist Manufacturing Technician, Engineering, and Maintenance Department in major repairs.
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as specified or as needed.
Start up equipment and ensure proper functioning of machines and control panel.
Monitor/replenish component inventories and ensure all safety guards are in position and functional.
Check and clean part tracks to ensure free travel of all component parts.
Notify material handler if part supplies run low.
Maintain accurate production and downtime records (logbooks).
Maintain a neat and orderly production environment.
Continually monitor in-process quality, addressing issues as needed to prevent product holds.
Perform and document all required Q.C. checks.
Run all required process challenges.
Observe all safety and environmental procedures and Quality System Requirements (QSR).
