About The Position

Hajoca Corporation, a large, privately-held wholesale distributor of plumbing, heating & cooling, and industrial supplies, is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Technician for its New Ventures trade name at the Houston, TX location. The company, founded in 1858, operates on principles of "Service, Integrity, Reliability" and values its talented people. Hajoca functions in a decentralized environment where each Profit Center (PC) is managed like a small business, featuring a warehouse, counter, sales office, and sometimes a showroom. The Equipment Maintenance Technician will be responsible for repairing, refurbishing, servicing, and maintaining equipment at the Profit Center. This includes performing inspections, preventive maintenance, responding to equipment issues, maintaining service records, and providing mechanical support to customers, teammates, and field operations. The role also involves inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing rental equipment, completing check-in/check-out procedures, establishing preventive maintenance schedules, and potentially traveling to customer locations for repairs and support. The technician will provide mechanical expertise, assist with troubleshooting, respond promptly to issues to minimize downtime, and accurately complete maintenance records and reports. Adherence to safety procedures, manufacturer guidelines, and regulatory requirements, as well as completion of assigned training programs, are essential. Other related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Minimum 2+ years of experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing relevant equipment
Possess a working knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment maintenance, which may include engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and circuit diagnostics.
Be able to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and determine appropriate repairs.
Be able to learn and operate the computer related systems used in managing maintenance claims and schedules and maintaining service records.
Possess excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Have strong organizational, multitasking abilities, and time management skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
Demonstrate a strong attention to detail.
Be able to build and maintain a positive working relationship with teammates, customers, vendors and co-workers.
Be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
Be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Responsibilities

Repair, refurbish, service and maintain equipment at the Profit Center.
Perform inspections and preventive maintenance.
Respond to equipment issues.
Maintain accurate service records.
Provide mechanical support to customers, teammates, and field operations.
Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair rental equipment and other mechanical assets to support safe and reliable operation.
Complete required equipment check-in and check-out procedures for rental equipment, including documenting condition, maintenance needs, and readiness for use.
Establish and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for equipment.
Travel to customer locations or job sites as needed to diagnose issues, perform repairs, and support field operations.
Provide mechanical expertise and hands-on support across team operations, projects, and daily activities.
Assist customers and teammates with troubleshooting equipment issues and identifying appropriate solutions.
Respond promptly to mechanical issues to minimize downtime and keep projects and operations moving forward.
Complete maintenance records, inspection reports, service documentation, and other required forms accurately and promptly.
Follow established safety procedures, manufacturer guidelines, and applicable regulatory requirements when servicing or operating equipment.
Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs as assigned.
Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
