About The Position

Volt is immediately hiring an Equipment Maintenance Technician in Hillsboro, Oregon. This is a direct career opportunity with an American semiconductor company that designs, manufactures, and supplies radio-frequency systems and solutions for applications that drive wireless and broadband communications, as well as foundry services. This role involves working on a compressed work weeknight shift – Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Saturday from 6:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. This is a factory position that requires wearing cleanroom attire and working in a cleanroom environment.

Requirements

Associate degree in a technical discipline or equivalent military experience is required
A minimum of 4 years’ hands-on technical maintenance experience in a high-volume semiconductor environment
Direct experience on wafer fabrication equipment in a cleanroom environment
Strong mechanical, electronic, and troubleshooting skills required
Candidate must be comfortable navigating and operating computers
Flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and responsibilities
Ability to work under minimum supervision in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment
Must be physically capable of standing/walking up to 12 hours per shift and lifting up to 35 pounds

Responsibilities

Performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on wafer fabrication equipment
Working closely with the factory management team to prioritize job tasks
Working closely with peers, supervisors, and the engineering team to deeply understand the root cause of failure and use those learnings to continuously improve equipment availability to meet production goals
Working with vendors, field service and technical representatives
May be required to attend classes, seminars, and vendor training if required
Attending shift pass-down meetings and communicating daily activities
Documenting all work performed on equipment
