About The Position

The Equipment Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a safe and productive work environment, ensuring production and quality goals are achieved through teamwork and communication. This role leads, trains, and develops equipment maintenance technicians, champions the transition from reactive repair to proactive maintenance strategies, and creates a positive, highly effective working environment based on mutual respect and a shared goal of being the number one supplier to our customers. The Equipment Maintenance Supervisor establishes and maintains solid working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. This position is posted as a Level I–III role: core responsibilities are consistent across all three levels, while the scope of authority, budget/vendor responsibility, and cross-shift or cross-line oversight increase with level, as reflected in the Experience section below. Final level placement is determined based on the candidate's demonstrated experience and leadership scope.

Requirements

  • Minimum: High school diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing equipment maintenance, including production equipment, or equivalent relevant experience required (Level I)
  • 2+ years of leadership experience required (Level I)
  • 7+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing equipment maintenance, including production equipment, or equivalent relevant experience required (Level II)
  • 4+ years of leadership experience required (Level II)
  • 10+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing equipment maintenance, including production equipment, or equivalent relevant experience required (Level III)
  • 6+ years of leadership experience required (Level III)
  • Deep knowledge of manufacturing systems: mechanical, electrical, and/or controls
  • Demonstrated leadership and delegation skills
  • Conflict resolution
  • Mentoring maintenance technicians
  • Strong attention to detail
  • CMMS experience managing work orders, scheduling, logging, tracking, and reporting
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Organizational and multitasking skills
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must be able to properly and regularly utilize the following PPE for periods of up to 12 hours: safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, nitrile gloves, ear protection, and cleanroom suit
  • Must be able to repeatedly lift, push, and pull materials or equipment for periods of up to 12 hours
  • Must be able to repeatedly stoop, twist, and bend for periods of up to 12 hours
  • Must be able to repeatedly reach overhead for periods of up to 12 hours
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods
  • Must be able to use hands and fingers to operate tools, equipment, and computer systems

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree or technical diploma in a subject related to industrial manufacturing maintenance
  • Demonstrated ownership of KPI achievement, budget coordination, and cross-shift collaboration (Level II)
  • Demonstrated experience leading maintenance strategy transformation (e.g., reactive-to-proactive transition), multi-shift or multi-line oversight, and mentoring other supervisors (Level III)
  • Maintenance-related certifications preferred
  • Safety-related certifications preferred

Responsibilities

  • Comply with and enforce all safety rules and regulations at all times, including clean room rules and PPE standards
  • Supervise the activities of equipment maintenance technicians
  • Serve as the department Subject Matter Expert and final escalation point for maintenance-related issues
  • Train and mentor other team members as necessary
  • Confer with management, peers, and others to resolve issues
  • Interpret and apply company policies and procedures, specifications, drawings, and job orders for team members
  • Champion the transition from reactive repair to proactive maintenance strategies
  • Achieve KPIs: OEE, zero lost time incidents, minimize time to repair, and project targets
  • Manage and plan work orders, maintenance schedules, and other records and reports
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain system integrity by inspecting equipment to detect malfunctions and out-of-tolerance conditions, and calibrating to OEM and production specifications
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations to create, update, and maintain work documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, Standards, and Troubleshooting Guides
  • Support spare parts management, set optimal inventory levels, and collaborate with procurement to ensure critical spare parts are always available
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to control the maintenance budget, track spending, contract services, labor, and identify cost-reduction opportunities while maintaining equipment reliability
  • Maintain cleanliness at the work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain; Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container)
