The Equipment Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for demonstrating a thorough knowledge of the operation and maintenance of equipment in the assigned area. This role involves maintaining a weekly schedule of planned activities for the crew, balancing schedules with available resources, and coordinating scheduled maintenance custody of equipment with manufacturing and logistics. The supervisor will control and report on equipment status, PM completion, unscheduled overtime, and other equipment maintenance measures. Effective communication skills with the crew, peers, and other groups within the company are essential. This role requires leading and influencing the analysis of equipment or systems to determine malfunctions and coordinating proper repair actions. Findings will be discussed with the maintenance group, area operators, leadership, and engineers to find immediate and long-term solutions. The supervisor ensures technical availability for tools by developing and assigning appropriate staffing and resources, and coordinates assistance with engineering resources to improve tool recovery and technician knowledge. Escalation of issues to fab management is necessary to maintain critical communications and secure resources outside of immediate control. The role includes coaching, counseling, and providing performance feedback, influencing team selection and direction, setting realistic objectives, and motivating others. Conflict resolution within and between teams is also a key responsibility. The supervisor will review all records of repairs, calibrations, tests, preventative maintenance, spare parts, and procedures, and maintain 5S standards in work areas and shops. Promoting safe practices, and the licensing and training of technicians are also critical. A thorough knowledge and understanding of company manufacturing and engineering processes and procedures, including workplace hazards and hazardous waste handling, is required. Staying up-to-date on applicable trainings and serving as an expert on SAP-PPM transactions and functions, including year-end/year-start SAP functions, is also part of the role.
