About The Position

Global- a 1st Flagship Company, a woman-owned small business and a leader in Marine Support Services and Emergency Management, is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Mechanic to join their team in Bremerton, WA. As a trusted Prime Contractor for the Department of the Navy since 1964, the company manages, operates, and maintains the U.S. Navy Inactive Ship fleet. This role involves working on military vessels such as destroyers and aircraft carriers, offering an exciting career opportunity in a dynamic and innovative environment.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years of experience as an equipment maintenance mechanic.
  • Able to safely and effectively use machines and hand tools needed to complete repairs in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
  • Has a basic understanding of mechanical systems and can identify equipment problems and determine the cause of breakdowns.
  • Able to use all hand tools and measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, torque wrenches etc.
  • Must have a good knowledge of blueprints and manufacturers specifications to be able to disassemble and repair tools and equipment.
  • Must qualify to wear a respirator.
  • Must follow all Standard Operating Procedures pertaining to assigned tasks.
  • Must be able to work effectively with co-workers in a professional manner at all times.
  • Shall maintain records on all maintenance preformed.
  • Shall have working knowledge of machine and mechanical principles and be able to troubleshoot to determine cause of problems or malfunctions.
  • Position requires brief periods in strained positions such as stooping, leaning over, or working underneath vehicles and equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Five (5) years of experience in equipment maintenance.
  • Training or experience in gasoline or diesel engine maintenance such as relevant military MOS, technical school or ASE certification.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of vehicles, 40' diesel workboats, forklifts, small outboard motors, compressors, air driven and engine driven pumps, power blast engines and pumps, welders and other shop equipment.
  • Overhaul, service, repair, align, adjust, perform preventive maintenance, and clean equipment in accordance with the preventative maintenance plan.
  • Safely and effectively use machines and hand tools needed to complete repairs in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
  • Identify equipment problems and determine the cause of breakdowns.
  • Disassemble and repair tools and equipment using blueprints and manufacturers' specifications.
  • Instruct Machinist/Mechanic Helper when assigned.
  • Assist in the receipt, moor, and departure of vessels.
  • Adhere to all Corporate values, policies, and procedures.
  • Work effectively with co-workers in a professional manner.
  • Maintain records on all maintenance performed.
  • Troubleshoot to determine the cause of problems or malfunctions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
