About The Position

HiFyve is hiring an Equipment Maintenance Lead for a Manufacturing company! This role involves leading maintenance activities and providing technical support to maintenance technicians on assigned shifts. The position requires performing preventative, routine, emergency, and unscheduled maintenance on manufacturing and production equipment, with a focus on troubleshooting and repairing complex machinery including CNC machines, lathes, servo motors, and controls. The Lead will diagnose equipment failures, determine repair strategies, and troubleshoot various electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems. This includes components like motor starters, controls, sensors, pumps, and valves, as well as PLC logic and I/O systems. The role also involves understanding and applying NFPA 79 and NFPA 70E requirements, reading schematics, and using diagnostic equipment. Additionally, the Lead will service and repair mechanical components, plan repair procedures, assist with machining and fabrication, and perform power distribution troubleshooting. Facility and equipment maintenance, providing guidance and training to other technicians, communicating with production and management, and maintaining housekeeping and 6S initiatives are also key responsibilities. The position requires safe isolation of hazardous energy (LOTO), operation of lifts, and participation in continuous improvement efforts. The Lead will work independently with minimal supervision, serving as a technical resource and supporting additional projects.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
7+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
Strong hands-on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting experience.
Strong knowledge of three-phase motors, motor starters, controls wiring, sensors, limit switches, and electrical components.
Strong hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting experience.
Experience troubleshooting and repairing CNC equipment.
Ability to troubleshoot CNC equipment and understand MDI functions.
Experience troubleshooting PLC logic and I/O systems.
Ability to diagnose equipment by testing components and walking through electrical and mechanical troubleshooting processes.
Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic schematics.
Knowledge of NFPA 79 and NFPA 70E.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, including machine alignment and runout.
Advanced experience using hand, power, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools.
Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and hazardous-energy isolation procedures.
Ability to safely operate man lifts, scissor lifts, and JLG boom lifts.
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Ability to lead, train, and support other maintenance technicians.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and work effectively under pressure.
Willingness to participate in continued training and skill development.
Ability to work weekends and overtime as needed.
Must be able to meet applicable employment eligibility and compliance requirements.
Ability to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, and perform physical maintenance tasks throughout the workday.
Comfortable working around machinery, industrial equipment, noise, and other manufacturing conditions.
Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Ability to safely operate or work around elevated work platforms and lifts.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Okuma, Haas, and Fanuc controls preferred.
PLC programming is not required, but the ability to understand and edit PLC logic is preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead maintenance activities and provide technical support to maintenance technicians on assigned shifts.

Troubleshoot motor starters, controls, sensors, limit switches, fuses, pumps, valves, and other machine components.
Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Perform mechanical troubleshooting, including checking machine alignment and runout on CNC equipment.
Troubleshoot Okuma, Haas, and Fanuc CNC controls.
Troubleshoot PLC logic and I/O systems.
Understand and apply NFPA 79 and NFPA 70E requirements.
Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic schematics, machine manuals, technical specifications, and drawings.
Use diagnostic equipment and precision measuring instruments to identify equipment problems.
Service and repair mechanical components, including pumps, motors, shafts, bearings, and spindles.
Plan repair procedures and assist with machining, fabrication, fitting, and alignment of replacement parts.
Perform power distribution troubleshooting and identify equipment component failures.
Perform facility and equipment maintenance as needed.
Provide guidance and technical support to other maintenance technicians.
Help train and develop Level 2 and Level 3 maintenance technicians.
Communicate maintenance issues, equipment status, and repair needs with production and management.
Record and track maintenance schedules and completed work.
Maintain proper housekeeping and support 6S initiatives.
Safely isolate hazardous energy and follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Safely operate or utilize man lifts, scissor lifts, and JLG boom lifts as required.
Participate in continuous improvement efforts focused on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity.
Work independently with minimal supervision while serving as a technical resource for the maintenance team.
Support additional maintenance projects and responsibilities as assigned.
