About The Position

A client of 1 Resource Group, a North American leader in Construction Site Services, Product Distribution, and Equipment Rental, is seeking an experienced Equipment Field Service Technician to support and maintain its regional rental fleet through field service, diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance activities. This position is based out of Evansville, IN and supports customer and project sites within an approximate 200-mile radius. Occasional overnight travel may be required based on workload and project demands. The Equipment Field Service Technician is responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on a wide range of industrial and construction equipment both in the shop and in the field. Equipment serviced may include aerial lifts, forklifts, rigging equipment, diesel utility vehicles, air compressors, generators, welding machines, and other industrial construction equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting capabilities, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills required.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand equipment manuals, blueprints, and technical documentation.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
  • Experience servicing and repairing: Aerial lifts, Forklifts, Rigging equipment, Diesel utility vehicles, Air compressors, Welding machines, General industrial construction equipment
  • Strong technical knowledge and hands-on repair experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, clients, and vendors.
  • Professional demeanor with strong customer service skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record required.
  • Must be able to pass MVR requirements, driver physical, and road test for non-CDL driving responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job including lifting, climbing, standing for extended periods, and working in varying weather conditions.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and occasional overnight travel as needed.
  • Must provide own basic hand tools; larger specialty tools will be provided.

Nice To Haves

  • A combination of education and related equipment repair experience totaling five (5)+ years preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform major and non-routine service repairs on customer-owned and company-owned equipment in both shop and field environments.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, inspect, repair, and maintain various types of industrial and construction equipment.
  • Complete required documentation including: Work orders, Parts orders, Billing information, Warranty documentation
  • Assist other technicians with advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution as needed.
  • Communicate professionally with customers regarding service needs, repairs, and equipment conditions.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organized work area and service truck.
  • Remain compliant with all company policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Follow and support all Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Meet attendance and punctuality expectations.
  • Plan, organize, and carry out assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Assist in training and mentoring other equipment technicians when requested.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
