About The Position

The Equipment Engineer is responsible for installation and servicing Lyten designed and built manufacturing equipment as well as third party manufacturing equipment. Position reports into Engineering Team and works closely with Design Engineers and Process Engineers to install and troubleshoot proprietary Lyten equipment in Lyten prototype and small-scale production facility. You may also be required to support installation manual and service manual documentation creation, continuous improvement initiatives and ongoing equipment development projects.

Requirements

  • An associate’s degree in electronics or engineering technologies plus a minimum of 5 years of work experience, OR bachelor’s degree in electronics or engineering technologies plus a minimum of 3 years of work experience, or master’s degree in electronics or engineering plus a minimum of 1 years of relevant experience; OR completion of military technical training and minimum 7 years of field experience.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings, P&ID diagrams, cabling block diagrams, etc.
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude and knowledge of pneumatics, gas and chemical delivery, electronics, vacuum, and heat transfer.
  • Strong knowledge of hand tools and proper usage, including a digital multimeter, signal conditioners, system control wiring, high voltage distribution, etc.
  • Clear and effective written/verbal communications skills, with an emphasis on documenting details
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

  • Lead installation of leading-edge manufacturing equipment, performing scheduled preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance, upgrading equipment, and qualifying operation.
  • Work closely with engineers, and autonomously, with limited documentation to build prototype testbeds, implement workarounds, validate system controls, etc.
  • Redline diagrams and schematics for review with Engineering to correct and release documentation.
  • Complete required job instructions, safety training and procedures for installing, operating, troubleshooting, and servicing equipment.
  • The candidate will be responsible for inventory control of certain critical components across multiple facilities.
  • Train junior engineers and technicians on site-related safety, troubleshooting procedures, and developing a customer-first mindset with safe, efficient system maintenance and servicing.
