About The Position

The primary purpose of this role is to implement and maintain electrical power circuits and equipment, control and automation systems, and electronic and pneumatic equipment used in pipeline, pump stations, compressor stations, and measurement facilities. This position is responsible for all activities related to electrical and control integrity, including design, installation, inspection, maintenance, operation, troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and adjustment of various pneumatic, hydraulic, electric, electronic, and Programmable Logic (PLC) control systems. The technician will also perform preventative maintenance checks on pumps, compressors, drivers, and auxiliary equipment, as well as Inspection and Maintenance (I&M) checks on all control systems. Responsibilities include maintaining electrical switchgear and power distribution, performing advanced engine/compressor/pump analytical testing and troubleshooting, and leading efforts to develop and implement changes based on analytical testing. The role also involves the evaluation, development, implementation, and maintenance of facility grounding systems. General upkeep, maintenance, janitorial, and housekeeping duties of all facilities and equipment are also part of the responsibilities. All work must be performed in compliance with Company standards, procedures, regulatory, and tariff requirements. The technician is responsible for identifying, reporting, and correcting safety and environmental concerns, completing appropriate documentation, and overseeing third-party construction, maintenance, or work activities. Demonstrating performance towards operational excellence, dealing with a wide variety of people with tact and professionalism, and communicating clearly are essential. Maintaining regular and dependable attendance, delivering high performance, and working non-traditional hours as needed are also required. The role requires maintaining Operator Qualification on all assigned covered tasks and a high regard for the safety of personnel, company assets, employees, and the general public. Other daily, weekly, monthly, or special project duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Associates degree from an accredited institution in a technical field or a related discipline.
Understand and operate electronic test instruments.
Excellent record of safe work practices.
Working knowledge and experience preparing drawings of electrical circuits.
Working knowledge and experience reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical blueprints and diagrams.
Working knowledge and experience applying and interpreting results from common electrical measurement instruments (voltmeter, ammeter, ohmmeter, oscilloscope, etc.)
Working knowledge of National Electric Codes.
Ability to estimate installation, operating and maintenance expenses associated with electrical and control systems.
Ability to complete work assignments with minimal supervision in an acceptable time frame.
Intermediate proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Office 365, and Teams.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).
Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals).
Good verbal and written communications skills.
Strong customer focus and attention to detail.
Must be able to perform all essential and marginal functions of the job.
Must be able to work with a team, take direction from management, adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.

Selected candidate must successfully pass a drug screening, background check, and fit-for-duty examination, including credit reports for specific positions—after receiving a job offer and before commencing employment.

Nice To Haves

Journeyman or Master electrical license.
Prior work experience in the natural gas and/or crude oil industry, working with instrumentation, electronics, and control systems.
Understanding of process controls and processing fundamentals.
Knowledge and experience in safe handling practices of flammable gases, liquids, and high-pressure systems.
Knowledge and experience with high pressure gas and liquids, processing equipment, medium voltage motors and associated equipment, pumps and reciprocating or gas turbine engines and compressors.
Knowledge of company policies and practices, and regulatory and tariff requirements.
