About The Position

USM ReRents is seeking a professional Equipment Broker experienced in large asset sales and equipment brokerage. The ideal candidate will be skilled in communication, negotiation, and follow-up to lead efforts in turning over the company’s equipment rental fleet assets. This role involves connecting USM to buyers of aerial construction equipment, facilitating transactions of new and used machinery, vehicles, and related parts. The broker will manage inspections, marketing, negotiations, and logistics, including financing, on behalf of USM ReRents. USM ReRents is a leading aerial lift equipment re-rental company in the US, serving rental yards across North America.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in large asset sales or brokering the sale/purchase of heavy equipment.
  • Knowledge of aerial construction equipment and markets, including a comprehensive understanding of different types of MEWPs and material-handling equipment and their market value.
  • Knowledge of various makes, models & manufacturers of booms, telehandlers and crawlers.
  • Knowledge of the equipment’s application and usage.
  • Knowledge of the construction equipment rental industry.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Sales and business development skills, including the ability to generate leads, build relationships, and close deals.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle logistics, including coordinating shipping and inspections.
  • Skills in the MS Office suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, & Outlook), CRM software, and remote meeting software (Zoom, Teams, etc.).
  • Demonstrated skills in keeping oneself organized, effective time management, and follow-up and follow-through.
  • Proven abilities in attention to detail and customer service.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Willingness/ability to take pro-active actions.
  • Abilities to prepare occasional reports.
  • Ability to read, interpret and communicate equipment drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Find buyers for USM by aggressively seeking out parties interested in new or used equipment.
  • Facilitate transactions, overseeing the entire process from initial inquiries to final sale, including documentation, inspections, and logistics.
  • Provide market expertise by understanding current market conditions, including pricing and demand for various types of equipment.
  • Negotiate deals to find mutually agreeable terms for USM as a seller.
  • Manage relationships by building and maintaining relationships with potential buyers, fostering long-term partnerships.
  • Arrange for inspections to assess the condition of the equipment.
  • Market equipment through various channels, including online platforms and industry publications, working synergistically with the Marketing Specialist.
  • Coordinate the transport of equipment to the buyer's location.
  • Take input/direction from the USM finance and accounting function regarding financing, and suggest financing options to buyers of new USM equipment where pertinent.
  • Prepare and manage necessary paperwork, including sales agreements and shipping documents.
  • Be a respectful contributor to the workplace and bring positive energy.
