About The Position

USM ReRents is seeking an experienced Equipment Broker skilled in communication, negotiation, and follow-up to lead efforts in turning over the company’s equipment rental fleet assets. The role involves connecting USM to buyers of aerial construction equipment, facilitating transactions of new and used machinery, vehicles, and related parts. The Equipment Broker will manage the sale of equipment, including arranging inspections, marketing, negotiations, and logistics (including financing) on behalf of USM ReRents. USM ReRents is a leading aerial lift equipment re-rental company in the US, serving rental companies across North America with a fleet of various boom lifts, spider-lifts, and telehandlers. The company is established, growing, and a leader in its industry niche.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in large asset sales or brokering the sale/purchase of heavy equipment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of different types of MEWPs (Mobile Elevating Work Platforms) and material-handling equipment and their market value.
  • Knowledge of various makes, models & manufacturers of booms, telehandlers and crawlers.
  • Knowledge of the equipment's application and usage.
  • Knowledge of the construction equipment rental industry.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Sales and business development skills, including lead generation, relationship building, and closing deals.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle logistics, including coordinating shipping and inspections.
  • Skills in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, & Outlook), CRM software, and remote meeting software (Zoom, Teams, etc.).
  • Demonstrated skills in keeping oneself organized, effective time management, and follow-up and follow-through.
  • Proven abilities in attention to detail and customer service.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Willingness/ability to take pro-active actions.
  • Abilities to prepare occasional reports.
  • Ability to read, interpret and communicate equipment drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Aggressively seek out parties interested in purchasing new or used equipment and connect them to USM for transactions.
  • Oversee the entire transaction process, from initial inquiries to final sale, including documentation, inspections, and logistics.
  • Understand current market conditions, including pricing and demand for various types of equipment.
  • Negotiate deals to find mutually agreeable terms for USM as a seller.
  • Build and maintain relationships with potential buyers, fostering long-term partnerships.
  • Arrange for inspections to assess the condition of the equipment.
  • Market equipment through various channels, including online platforms and industry publications, working with the Marketing Specialist.
  • Coordinate the transport of equipment to the buyer's location.
  • Take direction from the finance and accounting function regarding financing and suggest financing options to buyers of new equipment.
  • Prepare and manage necessary paperwork, such as sales agreements and shipping documents.
  • Be a respectful contributor to the workplace and bring positive energy.
