About The Position

USM ReRents is seeking an experienced Equipment Broker skilled in communication, negotiation, and follow-through to manage the turnover of their equipment rental fleet assets. The role involves connecting USM with buyers of aerial construction equipment, facilitating transactions of new and used machinery, vehicles, and related parts. Responsibilities include brokering the sale of rental fleet assets, arranging inspections, marketing, negotiations, logistics, and financing on behalf of USM ReRents. USM ReRents is a leading aerial lift equipment re-rental company in the US, serving rental companies across North America.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in large asset sales or brokering the sale/purchase of heavy equipment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of different types of MEWP and material-handling equipment and their market value, including various makes, models, and manufacturers of booms, telehandlers, and crawlers.
  • Knowledge of equipment application and usage, and the construction equipment rental industry.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to effectively communicate with buyers and sellers and negotiate favorable terms.
  • Sales and business development skills, including the ability to generate leads, build relationships, and close deals.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and address potential issues during a transaction.
  • Ability to handle logistics, including coordinating shipping and inspections.
  • Skills in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), CRM software, and remote meeting software (Zoom, Teams, etc.).
  • Demonstrated skills in organization, time management, follow-up, and follow-through.
  • Proven abilities in attention to detail and customer service.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (orally and in writing).
  • Willingness and ability to take proactive actions.
  • Abilities to prepare reports, and to read, interpret, and communicate equipment drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Aggressively seek out parties interested in purchasing new or used equipment and connect them to USM for current and future transactions.
  • Oversee the entire transaction process, from initial inquiries to final sale, including documentation, inspections, and logistics.
  • Provide market expertise by understanding current market conditions, pricing, and demand for various equipment types.
  • Negotiate deals to find mutually agreeable terms for USM as a seller.
  • Build and maintain relationships with potential buyers, fostering long-term partnerships.
  • Arrange for inspections to assess the condition of the equipment.
  • Market equipment through various channels, including online platforms and industry publications, working with the Marketing Specialist.
  • Coordinate the transport of equipment to the buyer's location.
  • Take direction from the finance and accounting function regarding financing and suggest financing options to buyers of new equipment.
  • Negotiate prices, payment terms, and other aspects of equipment or parts sales on behalf of USM.
  • Prepare and manage necessary paperwork, such as sales agreements and shipping documents.
  • Be a respectful contributor to the workplace and bring positive energy.
