About The Position

Blue Ridge Equine Clinic is seeking motivated veterinary graduates for its 2027 Equine Veterinary Internship Program. This program is designed to build confidence, sharpen clinical skills, and gain meaningful experience with a diverse equine caseload. Interns will be active members of the medical team, learning from experienced equine veterinarians and progressively building the skills and independence needed for future practice. The clinic provides both ambulatory and hospital-based care for various types of horses.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree required
Compassionate and team-oriented approach to veterinary medicine
Strong interest in equine practice and continued clinical development
Ability to lift 40+ lbs.
Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

Gain exposure to a broad range of cases, including lameness and performance evaluations, emergency care, reproduction, internal medicine, surgery, diagnostics, and preventative care.
Strengthen diagnostic approach, technical abilities, case management, and client communication through meaningful involvement in real cases.
Develop a well-rounded clinical foundation through exposure to both field and hospital-based medicine.
Take on greater responsibility as skills and confidence develop, with support from an experienced team.
