About The Position

Vertiv is seeking an Epoxy Technician (1st shift) to join their team. The role involves preparing surfaces, mixing and applying epoxy systems, monitoring environmental conditions, inspecting finished applications, and ensuring adherence to all safety, quality, and procedural standards. The technician will also be responsible for documentation, identifying process improvements, collaborating with other teams, assisting in training, and maintaining tools and work areas. Requirements

  • Minimum of High School diploma or GED required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of epoxy systems, resins, hardeners, surface preparation methods, and curing processes.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, technical data sheets (TDS), safety data sheets (SDS), and engineering drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Basic math skills for measuring, mixing ratios, and material calculations.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Willingness to learn new epoxy systems, equipment, and application techniques.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Nice To Haves

  • 2–5 years of experience working as an Epoxy Technician, Coatings Technician, or in a similar industrial coatings or manufacturing role preferred.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, construction, industrial flooring, or production environment preferred.
  • Forklift, lift equipment, or industrial equipment experience preferred (or willingness to be trained).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a positive, progressive, and productive attitude toward plant targets and objectives regarding safety, quality, integrity, accountability, reliability, and productivity as a unified goal.
  • Prepare surfaces for epoxy application by cleaning, grinding, blasting, leveling, and repairing substrates as required.
  • Mix epoxy, resins, hardeners, and additives according to manufacturer specifications and work instructions to ensure proper curing and performance.
  • Apply epoxy systems using appropriate tools and techniques, including but not limited to rollers, squeegees, trowels, brushes, and spray equipment.
  • Monitor environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, surface moisture) to ensure proper application and curing of epoxy systems.
  • Inspect finished epoxy applications for defects such as bubbles, fisheyes, uneven thickness, or adhesion issues, and perform corrective actions as needed.
  • Follow all SOPs, work instructions, safety policies, and quality standards to ensure consistent and compliant epoxy installations.
  • Utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow proper handling, storage, and disposal procedures for chemicals and materials.
  • Document work performed, material usage, batch numbers, and any non-conformances in accordance with quality and traceability requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, waste reduction, and efficiency gains within epoxy application operations.
  • Work closely with production, quality, engineering, and safety teams to ensure epoxy applications meet customer and internal specifications.
  • Assist in training new team members on epoxy application techniques, safety practices, and equipment operation.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, safety, and productivity.
