About The Position

Quality Staffing, Inc., also doing business as Goddard Mason Executive Search, a leading full-service employment agency matching qualified talent with some of the area's top companies, is seeking an experienced Epidemiologist to work through our agency as a contract employee with the Tennessee Department of Health (TN DOH) located in Nashville, TN. This is a hybrid position working from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday for a total of 37.5 hours per week. The pay rate for this position is $38.00 per hour. The Epidemiologist Job Overview: The Maternal Health Section within the Division of Family Health and Wellness (FHW) of the Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) is seeking an Epidemiologist to support the Family Planning program, including Title X reporting and compliance, as well as the Presumptive Eligibility Program. In-person attendance will be required on first day of employment for laptop deployment and onboarding and for quarterly meetings and professional development; travel to the Nashville office will not be reimbursed.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, statistics, health information or public health with a minimum of two (2) years of experience.
  • Proficiency in analytical methods and statistical software; SAS experience preferred.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Experience with data visualization.
  • Experience managing databases; REDCap experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; technical writing skills are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting and evaluating public health programs is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and maintaining databases and surveillance systems.
  • Developing data collection tools.
  • Analyzing and evaluating program data to track performance metrics.
  • Conducting descriptive epidemiologic analyses and interpreting findings.
  • Creating reports and data visualizations to summarize findings.
  • Conveying information or findings to internal and external partners.
  • Identifying opportunities for technical assistance or data quality improvement.
  • Ensuring all generated reports follow Data Release Guidelines.
  • Working with program directors and communications specialists to develop infographics and disseminate findings among clinical and community partners.
  • Providing epidemiological support to the Maternal and Child Health Block Grant.
