The Southeast Health District is seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill the full-time, salaried position of Epidemiologist 1, 2, or 3 based in Waycross, GA. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in public health or closely related field from an accredited college or university OR Bachelor's degree in any field from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of experience performing epidemiologic work or work in a closely related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Public Health or a closely related field, along with relevant professional experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in conducting public health surveillance, analyzing epidemiologic data, performing in-depth outbreak investigations, and reporting findings.
  • Experience implementing disease control measures and strategies.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, develops, and conducts epidemiologic investigations, surveillance activities, and interventions to identify disease causes and implement effective control measures.
  • Collects, analyzes, and interprets statistical data and prepares comprehensive epidemiologic reports.
  • Provides training, technical assistance, and consultative services related to epidemiology and disease control.
  • Supports the implementation of timely disease intervention strategies to reduce the prevalence of communicable diseases by conducting investigations, and performing data collection, analysis, interpretation, surveillance, and reporting activities.
