About The Position

The primary job duties for this role involve the investigation, surveillance, and analysis of hospital informatics to support the Infection Prevention Department. Specific duties include reviewing and communicating pertinent laboratory results, reporting communicable diseases to the Department of Health, conducting outbreak and exposure investigations, and performing surveillance for hospital-acquired infections. The position requires flexibility in working hours, including on-call duties during evenings, weekends, and other times as deemed necessary, with the expectation of responding within a reasonable timeframe.

Requirements

• BS (preferred MS) in preventative medicine, public health, laboratory science, or nursing with emphasis in epidemiology.
• Certification in Infection Control or commitment to attain within 3 years of employment.
• Minimum of two years in the area of public health or hospital experience.
• Experience in computer skills, PC word processing, data bases, tables, and graphics software.
• Knowledge and experience in statistical analysis, with proficiency in database and statistical software.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent people skills and the ability to problem solve efficiently and effectively.

Nice To Haves
