We’re seeking a passionate and skilled Epidemiologist to join our multidisciplinary team of researchers, clinicians, and public health experts dedicated to understanding and reducing the burden of cancer. As an Epidemiologist at SCC, you’ll play a critical role in advancing cancer research by uncovering patterns, identifying risk factors, and translating data into meaningful insights that guide prevention strategies and clinical innovation.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Epidemiology, Statistics, or Mathematics. Will accept a Bachelor's Degree in Epidemiology, Statistics, or Mathematics and 24 months SAS, SPSS or equivalent experience in a public health or biomedical science environment.
  • No experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of biostatistics, statistics, mathematics, epidemiologic methods, and/or research design.
  • Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Effectively address research or program evaluation questions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient computing skills using: SAS, or equivalent for data processing and analysis; ArcGIS, or equivalent, for geographic analysis; Tableau, or equivalent, for visual presentation; and Access or Excel for data management.

Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct epidemiologic studies focused on cancer incidence, risk factors, survival, and outcomes
  • Analyze complex clinical and population health datasets to generate actionable insights
  • Collaborate with oncology researchers, clinicians, and biostatisticians on multidisciplinary research initiatives
  • Contribute to grant proposals, manuscripts, and scientific presentations
  • Support cancer surveillance, registry efforts, and population health initiatives across Oklahoma
  • Translate data findings into clear recommendations to support cancer prevention and control strategies
