Requirements

Master's degree in public health or a closely related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of experience performing epidemiologic work or work in a closely related field
Bachelor's degree in any field from an accredited college or university AND Three years of experience performing epidemiologic work or work in a closely related field
Two years of experience at the lower-level Epidemiologist 1 (HCP180) or position equivalent.

Responsibilities

Develops, plans, and conducts epidemiologic investigations, public health surveillance, and interventions limited in scope and/or complexity.
Collects, analyzes, and interprets statistical data and prepares epidemiologic reports.
Serves as an intermediate-level professional epidemiologist and is responsible for carrying out a broad and complex range of analytical epidemiologic activities related to the surveillance, detection, prevention, and control of notifiable diseases.
Involves substantial communication with members of the public and community partners in verbal and written formats.
Responsible for follow-up of notifiable conditions including animal bites and other rabies exposures (including rabies post-exposure prophylaxis), foodborne illness outbreaks, vector borne illnesses, legionellosis, and others.
Works both independently, and as an experienced team member.
Guides Tier 1 Epidemiologists in conducting public health surveillance, project management, and analytic pursuits.
